We are pleased to announce the schedule for the 5th Annual George A. Sisson Head and Neck Oncology Resident Education Symposium to be held during the AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting in Boston MA, on Saturday, September 25, from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM. It will be held at the  Convention Center just prior to the annual meeting of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery.

This half-day session will provide a comprehensive review of the current standards of care, surgical techniques, and important study topics for head and neck oncology and surgery. This popular course is jointly sponsored by the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and The American Head and Neck Society.  We hope your residents and fellows will attend.

Grant Writing Workshop with Mock Study Session
Thursday, Oct 28, 2010 from 6:00pm-8:00pm

Please plan on attending this exciting session during the AHNS Research Workshop. This is the first time that the AHNS has offered a session on grant writing and it promises to be highly educational. At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to be knowledgeable in grantsmanship and grant writing issues and understand the review process and how to revise unfunded grants for resubmission. PREVENTION AND EARLY DETECTION 2010 COMMUNITY SERVICE GRANTS

The Prevention and Early Detection congratulates Michael Moore, MD from the Indiana University School of Medicine as well as Brian L. Schmidt, DDS, MD, PhD from the University of California: San Francisco for winning the two 2010 Prevention and Early Detection Community Service Grants. AHNS Humanitarian Committee and Project

AHNS Council will establish a Humanitarian Committee with the following charge: The Humanitarian Committee will encourage and support the efforts of AHNS membership to assist underserved populations at home and abroad through volunteer activities and will seek to develop shared resources for communication, encouragement, development of resources and organization of activities. [AHNS does not endorse or encourage any particular faith, but recognizes that good work and opportunities are often accomplished by particular faith-based organizations. Individual members are free to work with such organizations, and the AHNS humanitarian committee will support their efforts in an ecumenical nonsectarian manner. For more information, click here »

The University of Pittsburgh has filled all three of their 2010 fellowship positions. Wayne State has filled their 2010 fellowship position. These programs are no longer available to accept any candidates for their 2010 fellowship programs.
