AHNS 2010 Fellowships in Advanced Training in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery

Instructions for US/Canadian Applicants

Current Fellows
Recent Graduates

Clinical or Combined Fellowships: The one or two-year fellowship program may be entirely clinical or may include both clinical and basic research training. Candidates may choose a one or two year fellowship, depending upon availability in individual programs. The Advanced Training Council will issue separate certificates for one-year clinical fellowships and two-year advanced clinical and basic research fellowships.

Application Process: You will need to complete one application and, along with the required letters of reference, send this to the Advanced Training Council for the 2010 match. Select which programs you would like to receive your application, and the central office will forward your application to the appropriate program directors and send you a ranking list. Keep in mind that some programs hire fellows each year, while others hire on a biennial basis. No applications will be forwarded to program directors until all materials have been supplied. If a program director wishes to invite you to interview, you will be contacted by the program directly. Submission of your application materials and fee does not guarantee an interview, but does guarantee consideration by each program you select.

Qualifications: You must be eligible for certification by the Canadian or the American Board Otolaryngology, the American Board of Surgery, or the American Board of Plastic Surgery (or equivalent). If you are trained outside of the U.S. or Canada, please contact the appropriate American Board to determine your eligibility status. If you are not Board eligible, your application will not be considered.

Deadline for Application: Each program will set interview dates individually, and it is your responsibility to contact Program Directors for their application deadlines. All interviews will take place prior to June 15, 2009. Please make sure all your application materials have been sent to the ATC office well before program interview dates.

Deadline for Ranking: Your ranking list will be due on June 15, 2009. The match results will be announced to candidates on July 1, 2009.

Fees: Please send your completed application, CV, and letters of reference, along with a $50 processing fee and $15 per program made payable to “American Head and Neck Society”, to:
