Areas of Interest in Head and Neck Surgery
Head and Neck Surgeon
Dr. Daniel Faden is a board-certified specialist in head and neck cancer surgery. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, and completed residency training in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. He then pursued two clinical fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in advanced head and neck oncologic surgery and cranial base surgery, where he also competed a postdoctoral research fellowship in head and neck oncology.
Seeing patients at Boston Medical Center, Dr. Faden’s clinical practice focuses on providing comprehensive care for the entire spectrum of benign and malignant head and neck tumors, including oral cavity, oropharynx, larynx, endocrine (thyroid and parathyroid), cutaneous (skin), salivary, sinonasal, and cranial base neoplasms. He has a particular interest and expertise in minimally invasive head and neck cancer surgery (TORS, TOLS, endoscopic cranial base surgery), precision/personalized head and neck oncologic care, and the management of HPV mediated head and neck cancers. He emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach to patient care to optimize oncologic, functional, and cosmetic outcomes for complex patients.
He is an active head and neck cancer translational investigator whose research focuses on how acquired genomic alterations and viral infections affect the behavior of head and neck cancers, with the goal of translating findings into advancements in precision head and neck oncology care.
