Dr. Burke’s practice focuses on the surgical management of Head & Neck cancer as well as complex Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery problems. ? He attended medical school at The State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, following which he did his residency in General Surgery with the SUNY Buffalo Department of Surgery (and subsequently achieved Board Certification by the American Board of Surgery.) ? After completing his General Surgery Residency, he further advanced his training with an accredited Fellowship in Head & Neck Cancer at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. ? Dr. Burke went on to complete another residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at SUMMA Health System in Akron, OH. ? After completing Plastic Surgery training, Dr Burke achieved a second Board Certification in Plastic Surgery from the American Board of Plastic Surgery. ?
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? This additional training in Plastic Surgery helped cultivate the skill set needed to treat complex reconstructive problems. ? It also made Dr. Burke one of only approximately 20 surgeons in the United States who are both Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and who also completed formal Head & Neck cancer training allowing for admission into the American Head & Neck Society. ? ?Dr. Burke also has academic appointments in the University at Buffalo’s Department of Surgery as well as the Department of Otolaryngology. ? ?
