Zainab Farzal, MD MPH is a Head and Neck Surgical Oncologist/Microvascular Reconstructive Surgeon and Assistant Professor at UT-Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She completed the 7-year surgeon-scientist residency track in the Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at UNC, and completed her Head and Neck fellowship at UCSF. During her time at UNC, Zainab completed an NIH T-32 research training post-doctoral fellowship, and also obtained her MPH from the UNC School of Public Health with a focus in Public Health Leadership. Her research interests are broad and include health services research with a focus on the intersection of cancer care disparities and social determinants of health.
