I lead the head & neck cancer service at the only academic medical center in Orange County, California, the sixth largest county in the United States, where I work with a team of 4 fellowship-trained head & neck oncologic and reconstructive surgeons, medical oncologists, and radiation oncologists. We treat thyroid, salivary gland, and mouth and throat cancers, including a very high volume of HPV-positive throat cancers. We have the largest transoral robotic surgical population and the busiest head & neck oncologic and reconstructive surgical service in Orange County. Backed by the only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the county, this creates multiple opportunities for patients to participate in clinical trials. My research interests include patient-centered surgical quality improvement, machine learning models to improve surgical practice and patient access, and the use of mulitomic imaging in collaboration with the Center for Neural Circuit Mapping to spatially map genomic data at subcellular resolution within head & neck cancer samples.

Clinical trials:

De-escalation for the treatment of HPV-positive oropharyngeal cancer

Neoadjuvant immunotherapy for advanced resectable head & neck cancer
