He treats a variety of conditions in the head and neck, both benign and malignant, and finds the field challenging yet extremely rewarding. Dr. Saltagi comes from a big family - he is the 2nd oldest of 7 siblings and has a wonderful wife Madiyeh, and two energetic sons of his own Rami and Yaseen. Dr Saltagi takes pride in treating patients like family and is committed to providing the best care possible while forming strong bonds with patients and their families.
Dr. Saltagi attended Indiana-University-Purdue University - Indianapolis from 2010 to 2014 where he majored in Biology and Religious studies, earning bachelor's degrees from both Indiana University and Purdue University, with highest distinction and honors. Afterwards, he attended Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis from 2014 to 2018, where he was inducted into the prestigious AOA and Gold Humanism honor societies. He was then accepted into the Indiana University Medical Centers' five-year residency program in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, where he published over 15 major journal articles and served as a chief resident in his final year of residency. He completed his residency in June of 2023.
Dr. Saltagi's residency allowed him to develop a passion for head and neck oncologic and reconstructive surgery; he found himself drawn towards tackling the complex anatomy of the head and neck, and drawn to the meaningful relationships he saw between his mentors and their patients. Thus, after completing residency in June of 2023, Dr. Saltagi went on to complete a fellowship at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania, specializing in advanced head and neck oncologic, endocrine, skull-base and microvascular reconstructive surgery
Dr. Saltagi's clinical interests include treating benign and malignant pathologies in the head and neck, including the parotid gland, thyroid, parathyroid, neck, parapharyngeal space, skull base, tongue, tonsils, throat and larynx. He also enjoys helping treat sleep and nasal and sinus disorders.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Saltagi enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing sports, swimming and playing board games which are all frequent weekend activities.
