Areas of Interest in Head and Neck Surgery

Endocrine Surgery, Head and Neck Research

Biography/Statement

Work with thyroid and parathyroid diseases is my passion. I’ve been worked with these diseases for more than 30 years. In 2018 other colleagues and I introduced the Radiofrequency ablation for thyroid nodules in Brazil. Since then, we have performed more than 200 RFA and trained physicians for Brazil and abroad.

At Oswaldo Cruz German Hospital (one of the Top Ten private hospitals in Brazil), I can develop the best practices in Head and Neck Surgery, especially in Thyroid and Parathyroid diagnostic and treatments – focused on minimally invasive procedures and robotic surgery. Also, I can develop the teaching of Thyroid Surgery and research in the same field.

Now I’m starting a new position as Professor in Charge of Thyroid and Parathyroid Diseases Postgraduate “Sensu Lato” Course of CETRUS Medical Institute, a very prestigious institution in Brazil well known for developing skills and teaching medical professionals.

Besides this, I have the privilege of organizing many educational events for physicians and patients related to thyroid and parathyroid diseases and published two textbooks related to thyroid cancer and thyroid and parathyroid surgery.

I’m very proud to be a member of the Clinical Advisory Board of piur imaging GmbH – a company devoted to developing the innovative tomographic ultrasound solution.
