Biography/Statement

I am surgical oncologist and head and neck surgeon trained in Chile and the USA. As a surgeon, I am devoted to the treatment of head and neck cancer, thyroid cancer and melanoma patients in my country, Chile. I work full-time position as an Assistant Professor at Universidad Católica de Chile and as Attending Surgeon in the Department of Surgical Oncology and Head and Neck Surgery Department in Catholic University Hospital in Santiago Chile.

I completed my General Surgery and Surgical Oncology training in Chile. After that, I spent 5 years in the United States completing my ECFMG certification, a research fellowship program and then a 2-year clinical fellowship program in Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center between 2010 and 2015. Since then, I have been working as a Head and Neck Surgical Oncologist in the Chilean National Health System and Academy in 2 prestigious institutions in Chile.

I am involved in direct clinical care of cancer patients, cancer research, and education of residents and fellows in training. My areas of development are head and neck cancer, thyroid cancer, and melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer.
