Head and Neck Surgeon, Oral Surgeon

Biography/Statement

Dr. Steve Yusupov is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, Fellow of American College of Surgeons, and a member of American Head & Neck Society.

Dr. Yusupov, raised in Queens, NY, completed undergraduate studies with honors at CUNY Queens College. He holds a dual degree in Dentistry (DDS) and Medicine (MD), which he obtained from NYU College of Dentistry and SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. Dr. Yusupov completed his surgical training at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he was exposed to a wide array of dentoalveolar surgery, trauma, and benign pathology. After completion, Dr. Yusupov continued his training within the department of otolaryngology at Lenox Hill Hospital. There he had the privilege to train in Head & Neck Surgical Oncology under some of the world leaders in the field. While in fellowship Dr. Yusupov had invaluable experience in maxillofacial reconstruction and orthognathic surgery.

After completion of training, Dr. Yusupov entered a cutting edge extended scope private practice in Staten Island, NY. Working along with world expert in TMJ surgery and cleft and craniofacial surgery. While on Staten Island Dr. Yusupov worked closely with dental and medical communities, establishing the cancer center, where he treated dozens of patients with oral and other head and neck cancers. Their team performed state-of-the-art reconstruction, not only treating the oncologic disease but giving patients their smiles back via Jaw in a Day reconstructive procedure that involves placing implants in an autotransplanted bone from a distant body part. Many times loading the implants immediately. Dr. Yusupov has been appointed a Director of Maxillofacial Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery at Staten Island University Hospital, Northwell Health. On the private practice aspect, Dr. Yusupov extensively worked on full arch dental implant rehabilitation with immediate load using the all on X concept. He has expertise with conventional denture conversion, guided surgery, and most recently photogrammetry and CAD/CAM. He is one of the few surgeons in the tri-state area with extensive experience with Zygomatic Implants and the Trefoil system.

Outside of the broad scope of surgical practice, Dr. Yusupov is involved in charity surgical care. From having traveled abroad for cleft surgery to performing major surgery on patients with extremely large jaw tumor from Africa and rare facial defect from Ecuador. Their group has been

featured on mainstream media highlighting the extremely complex work that they do on patients with no access to care in underserved parts of the world. Currently, Dr. Yusupov is on the advisory board of the Little Baby Face Foundation, an organization that delivers high quality care right in the middle of NYC to children with congenital facial deformities with limited access to care.

During his time spent in private practice, Dr. Yusupov has lectured locally across the tristate area and nationally about topics on Oral Cancer and Reconstruction.  He is heavily involved in resident education at multiple programs in New York City and has multiple publications in the professional peer-reviewed literature.

Dr. Yusupov and the team at Gold Coast Oral & Maxilloacial Surgery are super excited to deliver our oral surgical expertise and service to the Long Island community. We are looking forward to collaborating and meeting the local colleagues within Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. Yusupov is currently accepting patients in the state of the art surgical suite in Roslyn, NY, and holding operative and inpatient privileges at several Nassau County Medical Centers.
