Areas of surgical specialization in Head and Neck Surgery

Head and Neck Surgeon, Reconstructive Head & Neck Surgery

Biography/Statement

I am a fellowship trained head & neck surgeon, specializing in all aspects of ablative head & neck surgery including microvascular reconstruction and trans-oral robotic surgery.  I am a native of Long Island, New York and received my undergraduate degree in Speech & Hearing Sciences at Northwestern University.  I then obtained my M.D. degree at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC.  From there I went on to complete my residency training in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at Northwestern University and a fellowship in Head & Neck Surgery and Microvascular Reconstruction at the University of California Davis.

I have a particular interest in treating advanced skin cancers of the head, face and neck.  Additionally, microvascular and regional flap reconstruction of head & neck surgical and traumatic defects makes up a significant proportion of my current practice.  I take great pride in educating not only my patients, but also medical students and our department’s resident physicians.  Currently, I am in charge of organizing medical student Otolaryngology education at the University of Tennessee.
