David Hernandez is a board certified Otolaryngologist - Head and Neck Surgeon with subspecialty training in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery.  He joined the faculty of the department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, in 2017 after completing a Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the University of Indiana in Indianapolis, IN.  Prior to this, he completed his residency training in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University in Chicago, IL (2011-2016).  His medical school training was completed in 2011 at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.

Dr. Hernandez's clinical interests include head and neck cancer surgery, reconstructive surgery of the head and neck, including microvascular free flaps, benign and malignant salivary gland tumors, benign and malignant thyroid masses, transoral laser microsurgery, transoral robotic surgery (TORS), hypoglossal nerve stimulator implantation for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, and head and neck cutaneous malignancies.
