Melina Windon, MD, is part of the Markey Cancer Center as a head and neck and microvascular reconstructive surgeon at the University of Kentucky. She sees patients at the Head, Neck & Respiratory Clinic. Her professional interests include public health and the epidemiology of head and neck cancers, particularly those linked to HPV.

Dr. Windon earned her medical degree at the University of Connecticut and completed an Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery residency at Johns Hopkins University, where she won multiple awards. She also completed a Head and Neck Cancer and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the University of Michigan. During her medical and surgical training, she volunteered with underserved populations in the U.S. and Africa. She is the author of numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on a wide breadth of head and neck cancer topics.
