Lab Description

The Gallant laboratory investigates the molecular carcinogenesis of head and neck cancers, leveraging deep expertise in cancer genomics to elucidate aberrant cell signaling pathways that drive malignant transformation. We specialize in functionally modeling somatic mutations using advanced in vitro systems, including models derived directly from patient tissues, to understand their precise roles in tumor initiation, progression, and therapeutic resistance. By integrating our functional genomic approaches with multi-omic patient data, our research program aims to bridge fundamental mechanistic discoveries with translational applications. The ultimate goal of our work is to leverage these insights to develop novel molecular biomarkers for patient prognostication and therapeutic personalization, thereby improving outcomes for patients with this challenging disease.
