The Division of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at the VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) is seeking a full-time academic head and neck surgeon/otolaryngologist with specialty training in head and neck surgical oncology and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck to join a practice including 3 other surgeons.  The position includes a focus on both ablative surgery as well as reconstruction, including microvascular free tissue transfer. Expertise in the DaVinci surgical robot for transoral surgery of the pharynx is required.  Experience in facial trauma repair as well as reconstruction following Mohs dermatologic surgery for skin cancer would be advantageous.  The position also includes practicing the full spectrum of the specialty including rhinology, laryngology and basic otology.  The Otolaryngology division at VABHS is a major teaching site for the Boston University Medical Center Otolaryngology (BUMC) Residency training program and there is a significant teaching component, with multiple otolaryngology residents, as well as anesthesia residents and students spending time at the VA.

Candidates must have an outstanding academic record with evidence of teaching, research and publications.

Fellowship training in the areas listed is required. Credentials should allow for appointment at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Compensation will be competitive with the major academic medical centers in the region.
