Welcome to Heads Up!

Dear AHNS Members,

We are very excited to welcome you to Head’s Up! – the official blog of the American Head and Neck Society!

As our Society moves forward in our new organizational structure, we are keen to begin utilizing digital and social media as the primary means of communication within the Society and with the outside world – this will be an excellent channel for disseminating the good work of AHNS and a tremendous opportunity to strengthen our membership’s ability to network and keep a dynamic presence outside of our annual meeting.

And it’s for everyone! In addition to engaging our many Divisions, Services and Sections, AHNS will be looking for any interested individuals to contribute – students, residents, faculty and Society leadership. This is your chance to submit your work and thoughts on our profession – blog posts are typically shorter, succinct entries and the subject matter can be any topic relevant to the mission of the Society – education, research, quality of care, basic science, management, career development, diversity, and productivity, as well as news updates from the Society. Above all, we want the content to be informative, relevant, and fresh.

Finally, thanks to everyone who submitted name suggestions – our winning title was suggested by two separate AHNS members – so congratulations to Drs. William Armstrong and Nathan Hales! They each will receive complimentary registration to the AHNS 10th International Conference on Head & Neck Cancer, held July 18-22, 2020 in Chicago.

Once again, welcome to Heads Up! We look forward to your input.

Sincerely,

Ehab Hanna, MD
President, AHNS

Snehal Patel, MD
Chair, AHNS Website and Social Media Service
